Tour Duration: 2 Days
Location: Cairo and Alexandria
Scheduling: Available all week
A representative from Valley the Kings will pick you up from Alexandria Port at the cruise exit door, holding a sign with your name. You’ll be transferred by air-conditioned vehicle to Cairo, a drive of approximately 3 hours, with a stop for rest if needed. Your adventure begins at the Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinus. Next, visit the Great Sphinx, a stunning statue featuring the head of a pharaoh and the body of a lion, dating back to the time of Chephren. The tour also includes a visit to the Valley Temple associated with the Pyramids of Chephren.
Continue to the Egyptian Museum, which houses artifacts from the Pharaonic period. This museum boasts an extraordinary collection spanning over 5,000 years of art, recognized as the largest and most valuable collection of Egyptian art in the world. You'll find over 250,000 genuine artifacts, including a special exhibit dedicated to the treasures of Tutankhamun—gold and jewelry that remained in his tomb for over 3,500 years until its discovery in the 1920s. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before being driven to your hotel.
Optional activities include a two-hour dinner cruise on the Nile or a Sound and Light show at the Giza Pyramids area. Overnight stay in Cairo.
After breakfast at the hotel, you’ll be transferred with your private guide in a modern air-conditioned vehicle to Alexandria. Begin with a visit to the Catacombs, which date back to the early Roman period and were discovered in 1900 after a 12-year search. Next, explore Qaitbay Citadel, located at the entrance to Alexandria's eastern harbor, the original site of the famous Lighthouse. You’ll also enjoy a visit to the Alexandria Library. Lunch will be provided during the tour. Afterward, return to your cruise for your final departure.
