Tour Description
5 Days / 4 Nights
Day 1: Arrival & Karnak and Luxor Temples
Our Valley the Kings qualified Egyptologist guide will meet you at your hotel, railway station, or airport in Luxor to accompany you to the magical Karnak Temples, dedicated to the God Amun and his wife Mut. Karnak Temples is reportedly where the earliest known International Peace Treaty was preserved on a wall in the Temple of Amun. Next, visit the majestic Luxor Temple, built by Amenhotep III in the 18th Dynasty and completed by Ramses II during the 19th Dynasty. It was dedicated to the great god Amun-Ra, his wife Mut, and their son Khonsu, representing the Theban triad. Enjoy visiting the Obelisk of Ramses II in front of the 1st Pylon. After your visit, you will check into your Nile Cruise. Overnight on Cruise. Meals: (Lunch, Dinner)
Day 2: Luxor Sightseeing - Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple, Colossi of Memnon
After breakfast onboard, your guide will take you to the West Bank, home of the famous Valley of the Kings. Explore the tombs of King Tutankhamun, Ramses VI, King Tutmosis, and Amenhotep II. Let us unlock the secret story of the royal tombs, filled with mystery and treasure. Continue to the majestic Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, the first pharaonic woman to rule Egypt, known for establishing trading routes. Next, visit the Colossi of Memnon facing the Nile, the twin statues of Amenhotep III. Return to your cruise, which will sail onto Edfu. Overnight on Cruise. Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 3: Edfu and Kom Ombo Temples
After breakfast onboard, your guide will take you to visit Horus Temple. Edfu Temple houses important scenes and inscriptions about the Sacred Drama related to the conflict between Horus and Seth. Sail onto Kom Ombo Temple, shared by the two Gods: Sobek and Horus. Sobek, known as the Crocodile God, represents the Nile, military, and fertility, while Horus is the God of Sky and Kingship. After your visits, return to your cruise and sail onto Aswan. Overnight on Cruise. Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 4: High Dam, Unfinished Obelisk, and Philae Temples
After breakfast onboard, your Egyptologist guide will meet you to visit the famous High Dam, which controls all of Egypt's water supply. The dam has three years’ worth of Nile water stored. Next, visit the unique Unfinished Obelisk, weighing 1,168 tons; if completed, it would weigh 1,200 tons. Many casing stones for the pyramids at Giza came from this quarry in Aswan. Continue to the beautiful Philae Temple, built for the Goddess Isis, who represents health, marriage, and wisdom. Transfer back to your cruise. Overnight on Cruise. Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 5: Disembark
After breakfast, disembark your Nile cruise. You will have the opportunity to take an optional tour to Abu Simbel or Nubian Village, or spend time enjoying the sights of Aswan.
Note: Regardless of your arrival time in Luxor until 3:00 PM, you will not miss any of your tours.
