Tour Description

When your cruise ship arrives at Safaga Port, our Valleythekings representative will be waiting to greet you and assist you into an air-conditioned vehicle for a relaxing and comfortable journey to Luxor. Halfway through your drive, you’ll have the opportunity to stop for refreshments and a bathroom break.

Once refreshed, continue your journey to Luxor, where you will visit the West Bank. Here, you can explore the Valley of the Kings, the magnificent necropolis of the pharaohs, and discover the fascinating beliefs of the ancient Egyptians about the afterlife, where 63 tombs—both royal and non-royal—have been uncovered.

Next, visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, the first queen in history to send a diplomatic expedition to the Land of Punt (modern-day Somalia). Hatshepsut is one of the few women to have played a significant role in ancient Egyptian history, ruling Egypt for approximately 21 years and leaving behind many monuments.

As you proceed, you will pass by the two Colossi of Memnon. In ancient times, locals claimed to hear a mournful sound emanating from the statues, a phenomenon caused by air passing through tiny holes in the stone. After restoration, this sound has since disappeared.

Enjoy a lunch break to try some traditional Egyptian cuisine. After lunch, take a motorboat to cross the Nile to the East Bank. Here, you’ll visit the awe-inspiring Karnak Temples, the largest religious structure in the world, covering an impressive area of about 60 acres. The Karnak Temples serve as a historical record of Egypt from the Middle Kingdom to the Ptolemaic period and were dedicated to the god Amun-Re, his consort Mut, and their son Khonsu.

After this fantastic trip, you will be transferred back to Safaga Port safely and comfortably.
