Unwind and take in the stunning beauty of the magical Nile aboard the Nour El Nile Dahabiya Cruise. Discover ancient sites between Esna and Aswan as you sail in comfort and style on this deluxe Dahabiya experience.
Tour Duration: 6 Days
Location: Luxor, Egypt
Scheduling: Mondays
Upon your arrival at Luxor International Airport or Railway Station, our Valley of the Kings Egyptologist Guide will meet you and escort you to Esna, located approximately 33 miles south of Luxor. Here, you will board your Dahabiya. Esna is renowned for the ancient Temple of Khnum, which sits 10 meters below street level. Your tour begins with a short walk to the temple, followed by a stroll through streets lined with beautiful textiles and exotic goods.
Meals: Lunch & Dinner
Set sail for El Kab, located on the East Bank of the Nile. Once the capital of Upper Egypt, El Kab is home to the Temple of Nekhbet and a series of intricately decorated tombs carved into the mountainside. After docking, enjoy a pleasant walk through a small fishing village to visit the necropolis. In the afternoon, the boat will arrive at Edfu, where you will visit the Temple of Horus. A horse and carriage will take you through the bustling city streets to the temple. After your visit, return to the boat and sail to a picturesque island.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Today is dedicated to enjoying the river. After breakfast, embark on an optional morning walk before setting sail. In the afternoon, stop at an island where you can take a stroll or swim in the Nile. As dusk falls, there may be an opportunity to walk into the desert along a valley adorned with ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs and Stone Age inscriptions. These markings lead to the shortest trail through the desert to Libya. At night, the boat will dock at the foot of the illuminated Temple of Gebel Silsileh.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Here, the Nile flows between two mountain ranges at its narrowest point. Typically, you will be one of the few visitors at this fascinating site, as larger Nile cruisers are not permitted to stop here. After visiting the small Temple of Horemheb and exploring the sandstone quarries where ancient Egyptians cut stone for their temples, relax at a charming café for tea and shisha (water pipe). Later, sail to a scenic riverbank for lunch and swimming.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
After a night spent under the starry skies, enjoy a morning trip to the town and Temple of Kom Ombo, built during the Ptolemaic period and dedicated to the crocodile-headed God Sobek. After exploring the temple, visit the nearby Crocodile Museum, which showcases many mummified crocodiles.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
After breakfast on board, it’s time to disembark from your Dahabiya. You will then be transferred to Aswan Airport or Railway Station for your final departure.
