First, visit Pompey&rsquo;s Pillar, which was constructed in honor of the Emperor Diocletian at the end of the 4th century. Then take a drive to visit the Catacombs, the largest Roman cemetery consisting of three levels cut into the rock. Now take a break for lunch before continuing to see the Qaitbay Citadel, built on the site of the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. We then journey on to the Bibliotheca Alexandria, a major cultural and library center.
